Manic: The way I felt yesterday after something I ate (I think it was roasted garlic and jalapenos) made my tummy poke out just minutes later. That bloated feeling came on quickly and it was uncomfortable.
Managed: Tried a few natural remedies and they worked so well that I decided to share this with you today.
I googled what to do about bloating because I hate that feeling and I don’t like how it looks either. Lots of remedies came up, natural and otherwise. After scrolling through several pages, I tried two things and they worked wonders! And so simple, as it came down to lemons, water and exercise.
I read that fresh lemon aids digestion and you will also get a dose of Vitamin C, which is good for your immune system and for your skin. Be sure to remove the seeds from the lemon. I’ve heard that warm water and lemon is a good combination, but I drank mine at room temperature. I also squeezed some fresh lemon juice into my water to get a better dose of the helpful citrus fruit.
After I enjoyed my refreshing lemon water, I did the second step that I read helps decrease bloating and that is good ol’ exercise. So I put on my tennis shoes and went for a nice brisk walk in my neighborhood.
We got lucky yesterday as it was actually cool and breezy here in the desert, which is rare for us in August, so I took advantage of it. I also tracked my steps using my Runtastic phone app and that encouraged me to go longer and farther than I had planned on. It felt great to get moving.
One hour later I was back at home having some more lemon water and my bloating was gone. In the past, I would have sat the bloating out, waiting for it to pass. This combination of lemon water and walking did the trick in a lot less time. I felt much better last night and woke without the bloat.
Since so many of us experience this with certain foods or the morning after drinking alcohol, try this combination next time….lemon water and exercise. It works so I had to share because it was easy, free and good for me.
