I just turned 47 and I look at every birthday (and New Years Day, too) as the beginning of a new chapter.
First and foremost I give thanks for the incredible family and amazing friends that fill my life. Then I shut my eyes tight and make a hopeful birthday wish that usually involves a wish for the precious family around me.
I reflect on the year that has passed and the many surprises, joys and tears that came with unexpected events, surprises and moments that took my breath away.
I approach my 47th year with joy and with a little caution since by this age, I have been around the block a few times. I know that life can hold all sorts of surprises. I am hopeful that more positive than negative surprises will fill my 47th year ahead.
And on this birthday, I thank all of you for supporting my blog that has been a bit therapeutic to have in my life. When I first started this blog, my mother told me that writing is a good exercise for a woman to do. I have never been the diary type of gal and those who know me well know that I’m not shy and that I like to express myself, sometimes a bit too loudly (I am a Leo after all), so having this blog has been a good fit for my personality. I love to share and tell the world about helpful tips that I stumble upon that make life a little bit easier. When a story touches my heart, I want it to touch yours, too. I get that trait from my Dad who is sentimental and sweet.
I thank my Mom for my writing skills and ability to express myself in an eloquent manner. She definitely taught me that. So on this birthday, as I make my way to 50 in just a few short years (how did that get here so fast?!), I thank you for sharing this blog experience with me with your readership, comments left and nice compliments that you share with me in passing or through emails. It makes me smile and I’m hoping for a lot of smiles and joys to blog about as I proceed through year 47.
Cheers to another year!
Happy Birthday Rachel!
Thanks Marlene. I’m so glad that I get to work with wonderful you on the show 🙂
I will repeat myself: as I’ve expressed on card and in my thoughts: YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE. WITHOUT YOU LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH DARKER AND MORE DIFFICULT TO PICK MYSELF UP AND GO ON. YOU WERE( AND ARE) ALWAYS THERE WITH YOUR WISE ADVICE AND POSITIVE VIEW. I HAVE LEARNED MANY LIFE LESSONS FROM YOU…YOUR LOVE FLOWS FREELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY. I AM BLESSED TO BE YOUR MOM!!! HOW DID I GET SO LUCKY TO HAVE A DAUGHTER LIKE YOU?
Awww…..thanks Mom. How did I get so lucky to have you as my Mama?! XO
