Heber/Overgaard Area Activities

Ramey Ranch Horseback Riding

*Ramey Ranch – We enjoyed a relaxing ride on a couple of beautiful horses led by the very nice cowboy and ranch owner, Wayne with Ramey Ranch. I selected Ramey because the reviews were all 5 star and many riders commented that they felt very safe with Wayne and the team at this particular ranch. It was my first time riding a horse and Wayne and his ranch hand, Charlie could not have been more accommodating. I felt comfortable and safe from the get-go and riding the kind horse (named Grandma Goldie) through the pretty trail and out into the open pasture was blissful.

Wayne also works with children fighting tough diseases, which touches my heart and made me want to give them our business. I highly recommend Ramey Ranch. 2269 Hwy 60 in Overgaard, AZ – Call (928) 242-5062 for schedule and pricing.

The Rock House Museum

*Rock House Museum – This original house, now a museum takes visitors back in time to see what life was like in the area in the 40s, 50s and 60s. This place is great for families since kids can see toys that children used to play with back in the day and experience how folks lived during that different time. Call 480-720-0560 to schedule a tour.  Hosts Kay and Rosann Porter shared a wealth of information as we viewed the different exhibits in each room and Kay actually grew up in the home, so hearing his perspective was very cool. 1831 Black Canyon Rd. in Heber, AZ

The Windy Hills Lavender Farm Boutique

To check out and shop for lavender, don’t miss the Windy Hills Lavender Farm Boutique. With over 2500 pretty purple lavender plants growing on site, customers get the freshest herbal teas, spa products and more plus a lovely patio garden area sits directly behind the boutique. Take a short walk out back to see the lavender plants in bloom and sit on the welcome bench to enjoy the calming sight and sound of the water feature. Events and weddings can also be held in this charming space.

Willow Spring Lake – A 28-minute drive that also offers trout fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

Rim Lakes Overlook – A 30-minute drive.
