Magical. Authentic. Real deal. I could think of 1000 more positive words to describe this very special place called Ramey Ranch in Overgaard, Arizona. The horses are well cared for and ranch owner, Wayne is a genuine, caring, good guy cowboy, who spoils his horses and the guests who go riding with him. Plus, Wayne and his beautiful horses work with children battling difficult illnesses like cancer and spina bifida.
Believe it or not, this was my very first time to ride a horse, so Wayne made sure to put me on sweet gentle Goldie the grandma horse. She’s a gem like Wayne.
And Wayne even serenaded us! You may recognize him as he has acted and rode horses in several very popular movies like Rambo First Blood and Far and Away! Take a look at our incredible day!
Since it was my first time to go horseback riding and I was a little bit nervous…and because I knew I would make this a Road Trip with Rach report, I searched high and low to find a horseback riding ranch that had excellent reviews. All 5 star reviews about the 29 acres of this relaxing and peaceful ranch grace the pages of Yelp and other review sites. I wholeheartedly add another perfect 5 star review. I cannot recommend this place enough, especially since Wayne gives back to help others.
To book a peaceful and memorable day horseback riding like we experienced, call Ramey Ranch at 928-242-5062.
I get asked a lot what my favorite road trips have been so far. I always answer with the Verde Valley Wine Trail, my European travels, parasailing in Marina del Rey with my daughter…and now Ramey Ranch has been added to my top 5! Saddle up and happy travels!
