An Arizona Must-See: Wildlife World Zoo

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Manic:  Finding local fun Spring Break activities and getting exercise at the same time, since I’ve been eating like I’m on a big vacation, too.  Too many calories for me this week!

Managed:  Accepting a friend’s invitation to take our kids to Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park (just outside of Phoenix) and although I had been there several times before, this visit was just as wonderful this time.  And walking a zoo all day is great exercise!  You have got to check out this place because it is truly one zoo that lets you get really close to the beautiful wildlife.  Check out our pictures from the Wildlife World Zoo to see what I mean:

And believe it or not, this zoo has the best onion rings that I’ve ever tasted!  Zoo restaurant “Dillon’s” has won awards for these onion rings and they didn’t disappoint.  The restaurant also offers BBQ fare, margaritas, cocktails, beer and wine, too.  Fast food snack bars are also offered at this zoo.

Also be sure to ride the water log ride and the sky ride.  The park also offers a train and boat ride that is really fun for the little ones.

Check out our fun pictures from the Wildlife World Zoo to see just how close we were able to get the animals:

Can you spot the baby monkey in this picture? Click the picture to see up close. Secure in her mother’s arms!

A family favorite at Wildlife World Zoo….feed the giraffes! Just look at that tongue!

And here is my favorite….the Jaguar exhibit! Can you believe you can get this close? They roam right over your head at this cool zoo!

In between seeing all of the animals, our kids climb and clown around in a tree. Fun!

Click on this pic to get a good look at another cool Jaguar who let me snap a picture. Absolutely beautiful creatures!

A lovely lizard who seemed to pose for my camera, too!

And this penguin shot is one pic that I’m proud of….looks like a post card, I think!

For more information about this very cool zoo, admission, hours, shows and more, visit Wildlife World Zoo.  I highly recommend this place.  I’ve been to a lot of zoos, including zoos in San Diego, Texas, Washington DC and more and this is one of my top picks!  Check it out!

You should go some time, Melissa! I have been there four times in the last 10 years and I enjoy this zoo as much as my kids do!
