Mother’s Day Gift Ideas (My 3TV Segment this week)

Hard to believe that it is almost Mother’s Day again, but it is, so I did some personal shopping and I found some fun and unique ideas.  Plus several of these lines are made by local moms.  Take a look!

For:  The New Mom & The Green Mom:
Bébé EcoPosh by local Mom, Stephanie Lee — A luxury, environmentally-friendly online boutique for babies, this Chandler mother offers everything green for mommy’s little ones.  Adorable organic and eco-friendly clothing, biodegradable diapers that can be flushed, even green crib mattresses are sold on her site.  For a green and stylish Mother’s Day gift, I recommend the Bébé EcoPosh stylish diaper bags. Watch the segment to see the ultra-modern black and white design called the Fleurville Mothership bag and the chic Swag Bag by JJ Cole.  Both look great and are good for both the new mother and Mother Earth.

Plus all shipping is by flat rate, with no sales tax.  And Stephanie tells me that if products are ordered directly from her website, the customer receives free sample gifts, too.  For more information and to order products, visit www.bebeecoposh.com.

For:  The Social Mom:
Infiniti Tours — Here is a fun idea that my family did for me and I loved it!  Hire a professional driving service to give mom a night out with her gal pals.  I highly recommend the service that I’ve used called Infiniti Tours. Infiniti has been providing first class tour and transportation service to the Phoenix Metro region for over 5 years. I have been impressed with their fleet of town cars, SUVs, and passenger vans.  Plus their experienced professional drivers are always on time, polite, and extremely knowledgeable.  And the rates of $50 each way is reasonable and takes the stress away because no one in the group has to sign up to be the designated driver.  For more information visit www.infinititours.com or call 480-802-8486.

For:  The Give Back Mom:
beadedbrACElet by local Mom, Lisa in memory of her son, Ace — When Gilbert Mom Lisa Armijo’s son, “Ace” passed away last September from a life-long battle with Spina Bifida, Lisa started making beautiful bracelets to comfort herself, as she grieved the loss of her son.  Friends encouraged her to start a business designing her beautiful jewelry, so she did  and included her son’s initials in the company’s name beadedbrACElet.  Her company donates a portion of the proceeds to a charity called Musicians On Call (www.musiciansoncall.org), a national nonprofit volunteer organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedside of patients in healthcare facilities.   She chose this particular organization because she says that music was her son’s life.  She has also donated to a local children’s theatre and plans to share proceeds with other charities as well.  To order a special bracelet for a special mom from Lisa’s website, visit www.beadedbrACElet.biz.  Her many colorful designs range in price from $10 to $20.

For:  The Active Mom:

Kodak has a new digital camera out that will withstand sand, dirt, dust and will even take photos underwater.  Called the Kodak Easyshare Sport Camera, this baby is lightweight and very durable, making it the perfect companion for active moms and their active kids.  This is also a great gift idea for a mom who travels a lot.  And since the camera sells for $79.95, the price is right, too.  For more information visit www.kodak.com.

For:  The Bling Mama:
Customized Bling Clothing by local Mom, Teresa’s Creative Gifts– This is one of my favorite finds!  Based in Maricopa, this local mom designs and creates everything bling and I especially love her wine tees.  Watch the segment to see the fun shirts that are blinged out with phrases like “Wine A Little, You’ll Feel Better” as well as several other fun variations.  Her tees range in price from $20 to $22 and she also makes over 300 styles of all types of logos and designs in shirts, jackets, sweatshirts and shorts.  For more information visit her Face book photo gallery page at  www.facebook.com/teresascreativegifts or call 602-710-9181.

For:  The Spa Mom:
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics — For the spa mom on your list, I highly recommend the Lush product line.  The amazing bath balls, shower gels, body butters and more are made from organic fruits and veggies, with little or no preservatives.  Plus they only buy ingredients from companies that do not test on animals and their products will indulge mom in a luxurious home spa experience.  The Mamma Mia kit comes gift-wrapped in 100% recycled wrapping paper and includes Creamed Almond & Coconut Smoothie Body Butter, Sugar Scrub, Miranda Soap that is made with kiwi fruit, Tiny Hands Hand Serum and Olive Branch Shower Gel.  Sells for $39.95 at the Lush Store in Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall (the only Arizona store) or online at www.lushusa.com.  I love this all-natural and green line!

For:  The Make-It Mom:
Gwyneth Paltrow’s new cookbook called, “My Father’s Daughter”– For the culinary mother on your list, I recommend a celebrity cookbook that just hit store shelves. Gwyneth Paltrow’s new cookbook called, “My Father’s Daughter” not only features healthy and tasty recipes, but several very touching stories about her late father and growing up in a star-studded family.  She also includes great pictures of a lot of the meals and several nice photos of her family.  And for a unique twist, prepare one of her recipes and give the dish along with the cookbook to the mother you are gifting on Mother’s Day.  Watch the segment to see Paltrow’s cookbook along with her healthy brownie recipe that I made and brought to the show.  I bought my copy of the book at Barnes & Noble where I got it for 20% off on the Mother’s Day gift display table.  And with my book store membership, I received an additional discount, so I paid the discounted price of $21.60 instead of the full price of $30.

So hopefully there a few unique and fun ideas for the mothers on your Mother’s Day shopping list.  And a big Happy Mother’s Day to all of you managed moms all there!

And stay tuned for my next 3TV segment airing next Wednesday, April 27th on the “Your Life A to Z” morning show.  I’m showing what’s hot in summer beauty colors.
